The value proposition

Strategy that reaches all the way to the invoice queue.

Most consultants stop at the recommendation. College Creek Consulting embeds directly with your finance team — diagnosing where processes break down, clearing the backlogs that pile up during transitions, redesigning the workflows underneath, and leaving behind documentation and controls your team can actually run on their own. From the executive conversation to the finance detail, and back.

Measured results

The numbers, reconciled.

Every engagement is different, but the standard is the same: outcomes you can count. A sample from recent finance operations and continuity work.

Engagement outcomeResult

AP invoice backlog cleared

Reduced an accounts payable invoice inbox from roughly 270 open items to about 60 while stabilizing daily operations mid-ERP-transition.

270 → 60Open invoices

Support queue eliminated

Cleared a 600+ ticket AP support queue down to fewer than ten open tickets — in under a week.

600+ → <10In under a week

Payment errors caught before they cost money

Vendor reconciliations surfaced invoices that never reached the organization and flagged a mis-captured payable before it was paid.

Grant deadline met

Processed approximately 257 grant-funded invoices ahead of a hard grant deadline during a finance-team transition.

~257Invoices before deadline

Institutional knowledge captured

Inventoried a municipal finance department's discrete activities across AP, AR, budget, grants, payroll, and reconciliation — and drove SOPs from draft through client sign-off.

107+Processes documented
From financial fog to clarity
When reporting lags, backlogs grow, and institutional knowledge lives in one person's head, leadership starts flying blind.

College Creek Consulting replaces that uncertainty with usable reporting, faster closes, cleared queues, documented processes, and a finance function that supports the organization instead of slowing it down.

What clients gain

Practical improvements that compound quickly.

The pattern is consistent across industries: better numbers, better decisions, fewer finance bottlenecks — and a team that keeps running well after the engagement ends.

  • Cleaner month-end closes and management reporting
  • Stabilized daily operations during ERP rollouts and staff transitions
  • Sharper visibility into cash, margins, and project profitability
  • Documented SOPs and durable knowledge transfer
  • Board-, lender-, and audit-ready reporting

About the founder

Sean Doyle, CPA

"My goal is simple: give organizations the financial leadership that was previously only available to companies many times their size."

Sean Doyle is the founder of College Creek Consulting and a Maryland CPA with more than two decades of experience strengthening accounting functions, financial reporting, and finance operations across public accounting, government contracting, private-sector, nonprofit, and municipal environments.

He began his career at Ernst & Young in New York City and has since led GovCon internal controls work, Unanet ERP implementations, and internal due diligence through a private-equity sale. Most recently, he has provided embedded finance leadership to a Maryland municipal government and accounts payable transformation for a leading regional nonprofit — hands-on engagements that pair strategic assessment with real operational execution.

Sean is fluent across the finance detail and the executive conversation. Whether the issue is forecasting, job costing, an overflowing invoice queue, an ERP integration failure, or a leadership gap, his approach is the same: make the numbers more useful, the processes more durable, and the finance function more effective.
